Notes - Francois became a captain-navigator. He was the father of the abbot Charles-Franois Painchaud, founder of the college of Saint-Anne-of-the-Pocatière; he was also the father of Dr. Joseph Painchaud, who practiced 60 years as doctor in Quebec, close to Hotel-Dieu. He was the grandfather of Dr.Joseph Painchaud, founder of the company of Saint-Vincent-de-Paul in Canada. He was the father of Emernce, spouse of Sebastien Landry, grandmother of Sir Alphonse Pelletier, lieutenant Governor of Quebec. Francois died of small pox.
